Spelman College, Dr. Rosetta E. Ross: REL314 – Introduction to Christian Ethics: Archival Research and Black Women in U. S. Civil Rights

This course introduced moral theory and ethical reflection. It was designed to familiarize students with the history of theories, language, and methods of moral reasoning, primarily within the traditions of Christianity. The course explored some contemporary ethical issues and provided students opportunities to engage in moral reflection. An important element of the course was introducing students to the complex and often ambiguous nature of moral reasoning and ethical decision-making.

During spring 2018 the course was conducted as an archival research seminar and lab examining lives of black women in the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. This exhibit was compiled by Jordon Brown.
